Police seek suspect in South Side Slopes fatal stabbing

Pittsburgh police are looking for a city resident who they say is a suspect in a fatal stabbing Thursday in the South Side Slopes neighborhood.

Police identified the suspect as William L. Fitzgerald, 50.

He is wanted for the fatal stabbing of Tarae Washington, 47. Washington was found dead on Thursday in her home in the 2100 block of Arlington Avenue. She had been stabbed multiple times.

Police said her family, who had not seen Washington in some time, went to her house to check on her

Fitzgerald is described as being Black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and 200 pounds.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Violent Crime Unit detectives at (412) 323-7800 or dial 9-1-1.
