Portion of Route 48 in Monroeville closed due to Thursday night crash

Route 48 at Macbeth Drive in Monroeville was closed to thru traffic Friday, May 3 due to a Thursday night crash.

Monroeville officials are urging drivers to avoid traveling on a portion of Route 48 after the road closed due to a crash Thursday night.

In an alert issued at midnight, officials said the road, also known as Mosside Boulevard, was closed between Gateway Campus Boulevard and Macbeth Drive due to a crash. The alert said traffic lights were out in the area, but did not offer additional details.

As of 10 a.m. Friday, the road was still closed.

Monroeville Police Chief Doug Cole was not immediately available to comment.
