Robinson police will be on hand Friday morning at Carlynton Junior-Senior High School after a threat was discovered on a bathroom wall, district Superintendent John Kreider said in a communication sent to parents.

“The specific nature of the threat involved a drawing of a gun, a list of first names of five students, and the whole school,” Kreider wrote. “The date of Oct. 1 was also written on the wall.”

The district notified families of students with first names matching those on the list. They are working with Robinson police to investigate the threat.

Those entering the building on Friday will be subject to searches of backpacks and other belongings, in accordance with district policy, and police will increase their presence in the coming weeks.

District officials also advised that the additional security steps may delay elementary pick-up times by five to 10 minutes, “however, the health and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority,” the letter read.

The district is asking anyone with information about the threat to contact high school administrators at 412-429-2500. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via the district’s Safe 2 Say Something program.
