Programs for all ages offered at Hampton Community Library
Hampton Community Library offers a variety of programs for patrons of all ages. On the calendar are:
• It’s A Wonderful World: Drop-in Storytime, which now is offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and runs through March 2.
All ages and abilities welcome for stories and songs at 10:30, Investigate & Create at 10:45, more stories and songs at 11, parachute play at 11:30, stories and songs again at 11:50, and Stay & Play at noon.
• Card Club, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Join for a game of 500 Bid; teach someone a new game; or just enjoy time out with friends, new and old.
• Murder by the Book! A Mystery Book Discussion, 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15, featuring “The 6:20 Man” by David Baldacci. The group meets inside the library. Please call the library at 412-684-1098 to request a copy of the book.
• Betty’s Book Buzz Discussion Group, 1 p.m. Feb. 17, featuring “ Evvie Drake Starts Over” by Linda Holmes. The group meets inside the library. Please call the library at 412-684-1098 to request a copy of the book.
• Cooks-N-Books: I Got It at ALDI, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 23, a cookbook and food discussion group for people who love to cook and make new friends. Check out a cookbook from the library, and then prepare a dish and bring it along with a copy of the recipe for the group to sample that evening. The program is in Great Room A of the community center. There is a $2 fee to cover the cost of supplies.
• News & Views, 1 p.m. March 3, a discussion group led by local author and journalist Gerry K. Smith with a new format inviting members to participate as guest leaders. Discussion topics are welcomed.
• Save the date: Hampton Community Library Trivia Night, March 24. Get ready for a night of laughter and friendly competition. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Trivia begins at 7, and the program ends by 9:30 p.m.
Registration is required. Space is limited, and no walk-ins are allowed. Cost is $20 per person, with six to 10 people per table. The event is for adults.
