Elizabeth Zott is a chemist in the early 1960s on an all-male team at the Hastings Research Institute when she meets Calvin Evans, a Nobel-prize nominated scientist and one of the only male employees who sees her mind and treats her as an equal. But like science, life is unpredictable, which is why a few years later, Elizabeth finds herself not only a single mother, but the reluctant star of America’s most beloved cooking show.

• American Mahjong. Join Northern Tier Library at the Pine Community Center at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 15 and 19 to learn and play American Mahjong, a game of mixing and matching tiles with three to four players per game. Beginners to expert levels are welcome. Bring your own game board if you have one.
