A New Eagle man died in a water skiing accident Saturday morning in Washington County, according to Coroner Tim Warco.

Jarred Feschuk, 39, was water skiing on the Monongahela River near West Brownsville when he collided with a docked boat.

Feschuk was transported to Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital’s emergency department where he was pronounced dead.

West Brownsville Fire Department and Brownsville EMS responded to the accident. The incident is under investigation by the state Fish and Boat Commission.

Excluding the Saturday morning accident, there have been eight recreational boating fatalities across the state this year, according to Fish and Boat Commission spokesperson Mike Parker.

There were eight fatalities in 2023, Parker said, and there are an average of 10 each year.
