15-foot python at large in Morgantown
Morgantown police were looking for a 15-foot python Friday after it apparently escaped from a truck the previous night.
According to news partner WPXI, officials warned people to keep an eye on children and small pets — especially when outdoors.
The station sent its news chopper to the city to canvass the area.
Police said a man was transporting the snake, and it managed to get out of its enclosure and into the truck.
The man got out of the truck — and so did the snake, WPXI reported. The snake subsequently slipped into the woods and up a tree.
City of Morgantown officials:
15-foot long python on the loose in Morgantown. Last seen near Listravia Ave next to Sheetz in Sabraton. It got away from a vehicle at around 10:45 last night.

As of 7:05 p.m. the snake was still on the loose. No injuries from the incident had been reported, a communications official at the police department said.
It didn’t take long for someone to create a social media account for the runaway reptile.
