Two women were killed after a train hit their vehicle Thursday in Somerset County.

Pennsylvania State Police said the crash happened around 10:30 a.m. at a railroad crossing on Bridge Street in Rockwood Borough.

Traffic control devices at the crossing were working properly at the time of the crash, state police said.

A CSX train hit the front driver’s side door, killing both women in the vehicle. The CSX employees were uninjured, police said.

The women who were killed have been identified as Susan Spangler, 67, and Deloris Latshaw, 85, both of Somerset.

Police did not immediately indicate which woman was driving.
