Western Pa. to have 7 hazardous waste collection events

A Pennsylvania Resources Council truck is filled with household chemicals.

An environmental organization will sponsor seven recycling events for household hazardous waste around the region through October.

Pennsylvania Resources Council will hold events in Allegheny, Beaver, Cambria, Fayette and Washington counties to collect the items. Each event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Below is a list of when and where the events will happen:

May 4: North Park Swimming Pool, Allegheny County

May 18: Concurrent Technologies Corporation, Cambria County

June 22: Fayette County Fairgrounds

July 20: Wild Things Park, Washington County

Aug. 17: Boyce Park, Allegheny County

Sept. 21: South Park, Allegheny County

Oct. 12: Bradys Run Park, Beaver County

The cost to dispose of the accepted items will $3 per gallon, cash only.
