The Fayette County Coroner’s office has identified all three people killed Monday in a wreck along Route 40 in Henry Clay Township.

Delroy Henry, 66, of Hollywood, Fla., was named Wednesday as the deceased driver of a tractor-trailer that police say started a three-way, chain reaction crash. Pickup driver Nikki Jo Rugg, 31, of Markleysburg was also killed along with van passenger Michael Brown, 34, of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Police said Delroy’s truck was traveling eastbound at about 5:30 p.m. near Dark Hollow Road and Youghiogheny River Lake when it crossed into the westbound lanes, striking a pickup head on. The pickup then collided head-on with a van.

Five people in the van besides Brown were taken to nearby hospitals.

The van’s passengers were employees of railroad operator CSX, Fayette County Coroner Bob Baker told TribLive news partner WTAE.

Baker said it’s time to ban tractor-trailers from this stretch of Route 40, pointing to another crash last year in Wharton Township that killed four adults and an infant.

“My first goal would be to talk to PennDOT to do a study, also talk to the state police, the Turnpike Commission, and local and state legislators to see what they can handle and do at Harrisburg, and then again to see who else can help this mission to get accomplished,” Baker said told WTAE.
