A woman died after Her SUV crashed into a Pennsylvania Turnpike building on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019.

A Beaver County woman died Monday after her SUV crashed into a Pennsylvania Turnpike building near a toll plaza in Lawrence County, officials said.

The crash, which happened just after 10 p.m., caused traffic delays and temporarily blocked the right lanes of the Turnpike near mile-marker 18.6 between the Moravia and Mt. Jackson exits in North Beaver Township, according to state police.

Kelly Ann Gilligan, 58, of Hookstown, Beaver County, was approaching the West Toll 376 interchange when, for unknown reasons, she traveled off the roadway and struck a sidewalk curb, state police said.

The SUV continued along the sidewalk, striking a large flower planter, a light pole, a light curtain and a traffic sign before it hit the corner of the interchange building.

Gilligan was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured, state police said.
