Duquesne Light, West Penn Power work to restore electric service

Crews with Duquesne Light and West Penn Power are continuing to work to restore electric service to customers affected by storms that came through the Pittsburgh area on Sunday and Monday.
As of about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Duquesne Light was reporting about 2,300 customers without power. By 6 a.m., the number was just under 2,000.
The most heavily affected areas were Ross, McCandless, Shaler, McKeesport, West View, Mount Lebanon and the Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Point Breeze, Squirrel Hill, Northside, Hill District and Lincoln Place.
Duquesne Light said on Twitter that it expects all customers, including those impacted by storms on Monday, to have their service restored by 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The majority of customers that lost power during Sunday’s storm will be restored by 11:45 p.m. tonight, while all customers, including those impacted by Monday’s severe storms, are expected to be restored by 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15 with many coming back online sooner. pic.twitter.com/1altGw6t24

West Penn Power was reporting about 600 customers without power in Washington and Westmoreland counties. Outages were also reported in Greene County, 112, and Fayette County, 103. Only 20 outages were reported in Allegheny County as of 6 a.m.
The utility was expecting to restore service by 5 or 6 p.m.
