Here is covid-19 data from Western Pa. colleges

Western Pennsylvania is home to several colleges and universities, attracting students from around the state and country. During the coronavirus pandemic, many are tracking the number of positive covid-19 cases as they emerge on campus.

University of Pittsburgh

Enrollment: Approximately 35,000 students

Number of new cases: There were 26 new student cases and one new employee case added this week (as of Sept. 25).

Isolation bed capacity: 179 beds. There are 51 students in isolation, down from 64 last week.

Total confirmed cases: 229 students and 12 faculty and staff since Aug. 1

University of Pittsburgh – Greensburg Campus

Enrollment: Approximately 1,500

Number of active cases: None (as of Sept. 25)

Total confirmed cases: None

Carnegie Mellon University

Enrollment: Approximately 14,000 students

Number of new cases: There were 11 cases confirmed between Sept. 15-21, and none from Sept. 22-25.

Isolation bed capacity: According to a university spokesman, the exact number of beds available depends upon the timing and circumstances of the need, as many students are already in private rooms.

Total confirmed cases: There have been 50 student cases so far this semester, and 56 student cases since March (on- and off-campus).

Chatham University

Enrollment: Approximately 2,300

Number of new cases: One new student case was added this week (as of Sept. 25).

Isolation bed capacity: 40 rooms

Total confirmed cases: Three students since Aug. 17

Point Park University

Enrollment: Approximately 4,100

Number of new cases: There were 11 new student cases added this week (as of Sept. 25).

Isolation bed capacity: There are 34 students in isolation/quarantine, an increase of 15 students from last week.

Total confirmed cases: 12 students and one employee since Aug. 30

Duquesne University

Enrollment: Approximately 9,500 students

Number of new cases: There were two new student cases added this week (as of Sept. 24).

Isolation bed capacity: There are three students in isolation on campus, and five students in quarantine at a hotel (as of Sept. 24).

Total confirmed cases: 12 students

Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Enrollment: Approximately 12,000 students

Number of new cases: There were 35 new cases among students and employees this week (as of Sept. 25).

Isolation bed capacity: 170 beds. Thirteen students are in isolation, down from sixteen last week.

Total confirmed cases: 171 students and employees since the fall semester began. There have been 111 recoveries.

Seton Hill University

Enrollment: Approximately 1,700

Number of new cases: Seven new student cases were added this week (as of Sept. 25).

Isolation bed capacity: 21 beds

Total confirmed cases: Eight students since Aug. 17, one commuter and seven residents.

Slippery Rock University

Enrollment: Approximately 9,000 students

Number of new cases: There were 31 new student cases added this week (Sept. 11-17).

Isolation bed capacity: There are 46 students in isolation and 89 in quarantine.

Total confirmed cases: 103 students since Aug. 20
