Members of the varsity hockey team at North Catholic High School in Cranberry are moving to remote learning after a covid-19 case was reported among someone associated with the team.

John Benzing, assistant principal at the Diocese of Pittsburgh school, said members of the varsity hockey team will miss practices and one game. They hope to resume play Dec. 1.

“I’m grateful to the family for reporting the positive test result,” Benzing said. “That information allows us to take all necessary steps to do everything we can to keep our students and school families healthy and safe.”

According to Benzing, the school has been following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention along with state protocols.

School officials will continue to monitor the situation and will update the team and school families.
