One person was injured after a fire late Wednesday at a home along Windsor Road in Brentwood.

1 injured in Brentwood fire

One person was taken to the hospital after a fire Wednesday night in Brentwood.

The house fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. along Windsor Road, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

Officials have not released information regarding the condition of the person who was hospitalized.

Additional details, including what might have caused the blaze, were not immediately available.

Teen shot at while unloading groceries in Marshall-Shadeland

Pittsburgh police arrested two people Wednesday night after a shooting in the city’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.

Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Woodland Avenue just after 5:45 p.m. for a 13-round ShotSpotter notification.

When officers arrived, they were met by a 17-year-old who said he had just pulled up to his residence and was about to start unloading groceries from his car when two men approached him and began shooting. He was not injured in the shooting.

Cameras in the area caught the incident, police said.

Officers said they located and apprehended the suspects. They were taken to Allegheny County Jail. Officials said charges against both of them are forthcoming.

A nearby home was struck with bullets, but no one in the house reported any injuries. A nearby vehicle also was hit by gunfire.

The Mobile crime Unit processed evidence at the scene.

Water main break in Wilkins leaves some without water

A water main break Wednesday in Wilkins Township is leaving some residents without water for the second time in under a week.

The break occurred along Lower Rodi Road near the intersection with Larimer and Thompson Run, according to TribLive news partner WTAE. There are outages on Queenston Drive in Wilkins, Churchill Avenue in Penn Hills, Windsor Drive in Penn Hills and James Street in Wilkins and Monroeville.

This comes after another water main break Sunday on Rodi Road.

Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Co. posted on social media that residents who were without water during the prior break are likely without water again.

Officials said the repairs to the latest break should take one or two days to finish.

State police investigating Aliquippa shooting

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a shooting that they say occurred early Thursday morning in Aliquippa.

Police said the shooting happened on the 1200 block of Main Street just before 3 a.m., according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

Police were on the scene for several hours, WTAE reported.

Additional information, including information on the victim and whether any arrests had been made, were not immediately available.

Pittsburgh to host indoor winter markets

For anyone who can’t wait for warmer weather so that farmers markets can start up again, Pittsburgh will host four indoor winter markets this season.

“These indoor winter markets are just one more way we are able to bring local, sustainable goods to the residents of Pittsburgh,” CitiParks Director Kathryn Vargas said.

The first is slated for Friday at Morningside Healthy Active Living Center at 1802 Jancey St. Vendors at that event will include Steel City Spore, Pittsburgh Pie Guy, Mediterranean Tastes, Catalpa Lane Farm, 1:11 Juice Bar and Paul Family Farms. It will run from noon till 4 p.m.

Additional winter markets are scheduled:

Friday, Feb. 2 at Brighton Heights Healthy Active Senior Center at 3515 McClure Ave. Thursday, March 28 at South Side Healthy Active Living Center at 12th and Bingham streets Friday, April 26 at Greenfield Healthy Active Living Center at 745 Greenfield Ave.

The markets will feature local wares and fresh food items, as well as nutrition consultation and other senior benefit resources. Shoppers using SNAP can use food stamps to purchase produce, meat, dairy, bread, baked goods, produce plants, seeds and honey at any city farmers market.

Five Below, Cinnabon, Ashley among stores to open at South Hills Village mall

Shoppers at South Hills Village will soon have an array of new options at the Bethel Park mall.

Simon Property Group, which operates the mall, on Thursday announced six new businesses slated to move into the mall.

Five Below will open a location this summer on the lower level near Target, and Cinnabon is slated to open in the fall on the lower level near Journeys.

Ashley Home Store, a furniture and home bedding shop, will open in the fall in the annex building near DSW and Ulta.

Warby Parker is slated to launch a new location later this spring. The store will carry the brand’s optical and sun eyewear products, and contacts and accessories. The store will also offer eye exams.

J. Crew Factory Store, which sells apparel for women, men and children, will open in the fall on the upper level of the mall.

EarthBound Trading Co. is slated to open in the spring, offering minerals, fossils, stone and wood items, hand-crafted gifts and home decor.

“With a focus on continuously elevating the shopping experience, these developments at South Hills Village introduce an impressive lineup of brands, including distinguished names Pittsburgh shoppers hvae been looking for,” mall manager Danny Bishop said.
