Morning Roundup: SWAT arrest in Brighton Heights; Pa. state trooper injured making U-turn

SWAT arrests wanted man
A man wanted on a warrant was taken into custody early Monday in Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood, police said.
According to police, another man called around 11:15 p.m. Sunday after being involved in an altercation with his roommate, who was wanted on a felony warrant, police said.
Police did not identify the wanted man or provide details on the warrant.
When officers arrived, the suspect barricaded himself in the residence in the 1000 block of Stanford Road. SWAT officers tried to make contact with the man, but he did not comply, police said.
A police dog was sent in and the man was arrested shortly thereafter around 2:45 a.m., police said.
The man was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
2 injured after car crashes into Indiana Borough house
Two people came away with minor injuries after a vehicle crashed into a house in Indiana Borough early Saturday, according to the Indiana Fire Association.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on Philadelphia Street.
The driver and a child inside the house suffered minor injuries, according to the fire association.
The house has been hit before, the fire association said. The vehicle was removed using a crane without causing further damage.
The home’s residents were displaced for the night, and the property owner was making arrangements for repairs, the fire association said.
State trooper hurt making U-turn
A Pennsylvania State Police officer was taken to a hospital for evaluation Saturday after his vehicle was hit while making a U-turn on Route 422 in Butler County.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Route 422 in Franklin Township.
According to state police, Everett Lesko, 29, of Butler was traveling west in a marked state police unit. Lesko slowed down, activated the vehicle’s rear yellow blinking lights and began pulling onto the right shoulder to prepare for making a U-turn.
The other driver, Danny G. Holton, 74, of Port Clinton, Ohio, assumed Lesko was pulling over to the right and off the roadway when he tried to pass on the left.
When Lesko started his U-turn, his vehicle was struck on the side by Holton’s, police said.
Holton was not hurt. Lesko was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
Pittsburgh police report South Side arrests, citations
Pittsburgh police made one arrest during their focused enforcement efforts Thursday through Sunday on the South Side.
The arrest was for aggravated assault, defiant trespass, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Over the four days, police reported making 19 traffic stops and issuing 49 parking citations, 21 nontraffic citations and 17 traffic citations. There were 17 tows.
