National Weather Service in Moon confirms 8th tornado from July 29 storms

A damage survey team from the National Weather Service in Moon has confirmed an eighth tornado from storms that moved through the region on July 29.
The eighth tornado was an EF-1 in far western Greene County. An EF-1 tornado is considered weak, with winds of 86 to 110 mph.
It was the eighth tornado confirmed in Greene County since 1950, and the first since Oct. 2, 2018, the weather service said.

Of the eight tornadoes confirmed by the Moon-based office, four were in its forecast area in Ohio — two EF-1 tornadoes in Jefferson County, and one EF-2 in each of Harrison and Carroll counties. EF-2 tornadoes are considered strong, with winds of 111 to 135 mph.
Of the other three in its forecast area in Pennsylvania, the strongest was an EF-1 that touched down along the border of Fayette and Westmoreland counties. It had winds between 100 and 105 mph.
EF-0 tornadoes were confirmed in Venango and Indiana counties, the weather service said. They had winds of 65 to 85 mph.
Tornadoes were confirmed across Pennsylvania and into New Jersey on July 29. Two tornadoes were confirmed in Bucks County, where several people were hurt when a building at a car dealership collapsed.
This is not the first time that tornadoes have hit the Pittsburgh region this year. The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 with 70 mph winds landed in Cranberry during storms on June 21.
