Rolled ice cream got a whole new meaning in an incident about 90 minutes from Pittsburgh.
A tractor-trailer carrying 39,000 pounds of ice cream overturned early Wednesday morning in a crash on Interstate 80 in Clarion County.
The big rig rolled onto the interstate near the Emlenton Bridge in Northwest Pennsylvania and spilled nearly two tons of sweet treats, according to a social media post by the Emlenton Fire Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. near mile marker 44, heading westbound, according to a Facebook post.
Fire officials said the crash shut down I-80 for about three hours until the wreckage was cleared.
No injuries were reported.
Emlenton Area Ambulance Service and St. Petersburg Volunteer Fire Company assisted on scene. Pennsylvania State Police and PennDOT officials also responded.
