A suspect is in custody after police searched the woods near Rochester Area High School for a reported gunman, according to Beaver County 911.

Nobody was hurt and the lockdown has been lifted, dispatchers said.

Police found the suspect, who was not immediately identified, around 8 p.m. Rochester Township Police took him into custody.

Dispatchers received a call around 5:30 p.m. Friday reporting a person with a gun near the school. The suspect went into some nearby woods and police spent several hours searching.

Further information about the suspect and the arrest were not immediately available.

A football game between Rochester Area High School and Shenango Junior/Senior High School was scheduled for Friday evening.
