Chris Boswell kept the Pittsburgh Steelers’ playoffs hopes alive Sunday with an overtime-winning field goal against the Baltimore Ravens.
To celebrate that, Steel City sandwich slinger Primanti Bros. announced it will give free classic sandwiches to anyone named Chris or Boswell on Monday.
The offer is good at all Primanti Bros. locations, the company confirmed in a response to a question on its Facebook page. Identification is required.
Primanti Bros. is famous for its sandwiches topped with cole slaw and fries.
Apparently, some leniency will be granted. Primanti’s said they’d honor the offer for someone named “Kirstin,” but not for someone named “Chuck” because “this ain’t a charity,” they said.
In their final regular-season game, the Steelers beat the Ravens, 16-13, in overtime at M&T Bank Stadium. Before nailing the winning field goal, Boswell scored the first six points for the team before the team got its one and only touchdown of the game.
Unless a Sunday night game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders ends in a tie, the Steelers (9-7-1) will face No. 2 seed Kansas City (12-5) in the first round of the playoffs at Arrowhead Stadium.
In addition to their own needed win, the Steelers were already helped in reaching the playoffs by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who defeated the Indianapolis Colts in an upset, 26-11.
