Cedar Point officials say weather caused a roller coaster to get stuck midway through its course, trapping riders Wednesday.
The GateKeeper malfunctioned shortly before the Sandusky, Ohio amusement park was set to close.
Passengers were stuck for more than 90 seconds.
“The train came to a stop on a section of track near the main entrance. The ride’s safety systems engaged as designed and an additional train was stopped on the lift hill,” Cedar Point spokesman Tony Clark told NBC-affiliate WKYC.
Park employees eventually escorted the riders to safety, the station reported.
Video of the incident was posted to Facebook. Footage shows the ride going back and forth.
The post said winds had “suddenly picked up” right before the malfunction.
GateKeeper first opened at Cedar Point in 2013.
It is 170 feet tall at its highest point, goes 67 MPH and is about 2 minutes long, according to the park’s official website.
