State police charged an Aliquippa woman with attempted homicide after a man was found shot in the city early Saturday morning.

According to state police, officers determined Katrina Mills, 40, shot the victim from interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance camera footage.

Aliquippa officers responded to a report of a shot fired in the area of 434 Franklin Ave. shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, state police said.

Upon arriving, officers found the man, whose age was not released, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to an unidentified hospital for treatment. Aliquippa police then asked state police to take over the investigation.

State police did not comment on a motive for the shooting.

In addition to attempted homicide, Mills is charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

She was arraigned Saturday night and sent to the Beaver County jail after being unable to post a $200,000 bail, according to court records.

Mills did not have an attorney listed in court records.

Mills is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the charges Aug. 4.
