An elderly Washington County man died after crashing the dune buggy he was driving, according to authorities.

Pennsylvania State Police said Steve Mox Jr., 88, of Bentleyville was driving a dune buggy in the 200 block of Caldwell Road at about 9 p.m. Friday and it went off the road and struck a parked vehicle.

Mox told investigators he crashed because the vehicle’s windshield fogged up and he couldn’t see, according to a state police report.

He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment of a suspected broken leg, police said.

At about 6 a.m. Saturday, police were notified that Mox died as a result of his injuries.
