State police: Woman dead after Sunday car accident in Hanover Township

One person is dead and two people are injured after a Sunday crash on Steubenville Pike in Hanover Township, Washington County.

According to state police, the crash occurred after a vehicle attempted to pass another vehicle that was making a legal left turn into the latter’s driveway.

The first vehicle then crashed into a guide rail and telephone pole.

Denise Pierce-Wilson, the front-seat passenger of the first vehicle, died of her injuries in Weirton Medical Center. The injured passengers have been taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

State police are investigating the accident.
