Allegheny and several surrounding counties are under a flood advisory until mid-morning Friday.
Meteorologist Lee Hendricks, with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, said the region could see up to an inch of rain Friday morning falling on saturated ground and streams that are already fairly high.
The advisory, which will be in effect until 10:15 a.m., covers about a third of Western Pennsylvania, Hendricks said. That includes southwest Armstrong and southern Butler counties, along with Westmoreland and Washington counties.

Hendricks said 1.73 inches of rain has fallen over the past two days, and “that’s getting up there for this time of year.”
Urban and smaller streams could have trouble containing the rainfall, he said.
Heavy rain should become scattered this afternoon, though there is a chance for isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain in the 60s this afternoon before falling into the 40s on Saturday.
Temperatures will dip even further, into the upper 20s Saturday night, before climbing into the mid-50s on Sunday.
