From Christmas cantata choirs to community bands to elementary and high schools, ‘tis the season for holiday music. Here are some seasonal concerts happening across southwestern Pennsylvania.

Events are free except where indicated.

• Scottdale Concert Band holiday concert, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Woodcrest Senior Living Community, 1 Woodcrest Circle in Scottdale. For more, call 412-670-3233 or 724-875-2421.

• Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic and Chorus, 8 to 10 p.m. Dec. 5 at Carnegie Music Hall, 4400 Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh. Tickets are $5 to $10 and are available at Eventbrite.com.

• Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra’s Friday Evening Club will hold its December recital at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg.

Voluntary donations are accepted at the door for non-members. The recital will feature pieces by Debussy, Sibelius and Liszt performed by West Virginia University adjunct faculty member and guest pianist Amy Simpson, along with several songs for the Christmas season.

• Scottdale Concert Band holiday concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 South Main Street in Greensburg. For more, call 412-670-3233 or 724-875-2421.

• Kiski Valley Community Band Christmas concert, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at Christ Lutheran Church, 5330 Old Logans Ferry Road, Murrysville.

Donations will be accepted to benefit Trinity Lutheran Church, North Side, Pittsburgh, and the Kiski Valley Food Bank.

• North Hills Chorale Christmas concerts, 7 p.m. Dec. 7 and 4 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Saint Vincent Hall Auditorium at St. Louise Convent, 8150 McKnight Road, McCandless.

• Scottdale Concert Band holiday concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at Scottdale United Brethren in Christ (former Christ United Methodist), 201 Market Street in Scottdale. For more, call 412-670-3233 or 724-875-2421.

The concert is titled “Cradle Him in Song.” Freewill offerings are accepted. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the North Hills Community Outreach Food Pantry. More information is available at www.nhchorale.com.

• Penn-Trafford Community Band’s second annual free Penn Township Christmas Concert, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 8 in the large assembly room at the Community United Methodist Church, 3487 Route 130 in Harrison City

• Kittanning Community Band, 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the West Kittanning Fire Hall, 401 Arthur Street.

Families with children are invited, and accommodations will be available if the youngsters become distracted. The large assembly room has a seating capacity of more than 400 people.

• Jingles & Gingerbread at the Murrysville Community Library, 6-8 p.m. Dec. 9 at the library, 4130 Sardis Road.

The evening will include festive crafts, entertainment from the Penn-Trafford Flute Choir, Laurel Harmony Chorus and Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church Bell Choir, and chances to win raffle baskets.

• Kiski Valley Community Band Christmas concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Marconi Club, 135 River Avenue in Leechburg. Donations will benefit the Lower Kiski Ambulance Service.

• Delmont Area Concert Band performance, 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at Redstone Highlands, 6 Northgate Square in Greensburg.

• Scottdale Concert Band holiday concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Ligonier Town Hall, 120 East Main Street. For more, call 412-670-3233 or 724-875-2421.

• Christmas at the Promise Center, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Promise Center of Homewood, 7825 Hamilton Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood. Reservations available at Eventbrite.com.

• Kiski Valley Community Band Christmas concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 214 North Pennylvania Avenue in Apollo. Donations will benefit the Apollo Historical Society’s restoration of the General Jackson Mansion.

• Delmont Area Concert Band performance, 2 to 3 p.m. (small group) Dec. 14 at Westmoreland Mall, 5256 Route 30 in Hempfield.

• Ring Pittsburgh’s “A Spirited Christmas,” 2 p.m. Dec. 14 at Elfinwild United Presbyterian Church, 3200 Mt. Royal Boulevard in Glenshaw with the Ring Pittsburgh bell choir.

• Jeannette Community Band 36th annual Christmas Concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Jeannette American Legion.

The concert will be directed by Mary Beth Abate and Maria Brecht. For more, see JCBweb.com.

• Kiski Valley Community Band Christmas concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Casino Theater, 145 Lincoln Avenue in Vandergrift. Donations will benefit the theater.

• Home for the Holidays with the Munhall Community Band, 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Homestead Carnegie Library, 510 East 10th Street. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and free for those under 18. Tickets available at Eventbrite.com.

• Kittanning Community Band, 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at Armstrong Junior/Senior High School, 300 Buffington Drive in Kittanning.

• Delmont Area Concert Band performance, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19 (small group) with Latrobe Salvation Army at Giant Eagle, 1050 Mountain Laurel Plaza in Latrobe.

• Delmont Area Concert Band performance, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at with Delmont Salvation Army at Walmart, 6700 Hollywood Boulevard in Salem.

• Kiski Valley Community Band Christmas concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 22 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 409 Sarver Road in Sarver.

• Christmas Cantata, 11 a.m. Dec. 22 at Hillcrest United Presbyterian Church, 1622 James Street in Monroeville. This year’s cantata is titled “Christmas Forever Amen,” and will be followed by a holiday reception.
