Stargazers might have come across recent online posts about the upcoming total lunar eclipse this coming weekend that will result in a blood-red moon shining in the sky.

Depending on the time zone, the total lunar eclipse will occur between Sunday and Monday, USA Today reported.

Will Western Pennsylvania be able to see the phenomenon? The answer is no.

Though this weekend’s eclipse will be visible for about 85% of the world’s population, according to AccuWeather, that doesn’t include North America or South America.

It will be visible in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, USA Today said, so those traveling to any of those continents this weekend will be in luck.

Specific viewing times per time zone can be found online. The moon will turn red in the “totality phase” for one hour and 22 minutes, according to experts.

NASA said the next total lunar eclipse visible in America will be in six months, on March 3.

A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth is situated between the moon and sun, causing Earth’s shadow to fall on the surface of the moon and turn it a rusty red color. Each lunar eclipse is visible from half of Earth, according to NASA.
