Two Republicans were elected to four-year terms on Hampton Township Council, according to unofficial Allegheny County election results.

Daniel J. Sciulli and Alfred Midgley IV both narrowly missed winning seats on council in 2021.

This year, Sciulli led a field of four candidates with 3,569 votes.

“I am truly humbled and honored to join Hampton Council in 2024. The residents of Hampton have spoken loudly this November, and I am excited for what’s to come,” he said.

“Most importantly, I’d like to give a giant thank you to all my friends and supporters. I feel blessed to have met so many wonderful residents during my campaign, and I am very thankful for their support. This election was successful because of them.”

With 3,569 votes, Midgley finished second.

“I’m honored to have been chosen by my Hampton neighbors to help guide our township’s path in the coming years,” the Republican said. “Collaborating closely with both new and existing council members, as well as the Hampton School Board, we will find extraordinary solutions for our community’s challenges. I genuinely appreciate the trust and confidence you’ve placed in me.”

Unsuccessful in their bids were Democrats Peter Catone, 3,160 votes, and incumbent Richard O. Kernick, 3,146. Council member Joseph Dougherty did not seek reelection.

Republican Jerry E. Speakman ran unopposed for township controller and was reelected with 5,362 votes.
