Santa will be visiting the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage and Cultural Center on Aufman Lane in McCandless on Dec. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will also feature a story time and train display, according to Executive Director Joe Wall.

He said Santa also will be bringing gifts and treats for young visitors.

Wall, who was elected to the McCandless Council on Nov. 7, will be announcing his resignation as executive director to the museum effective Dec 31. Swearing in to council will take place on Jan 2.

The Financial Development and Promotions Committee, or HCC Board, appointed McCandless resident Wendy Moore as the new HCC executive director to take effect Jan 1. This position is volunteer.

Moore is a history teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, a certified librarian and historical docent, Wall said.

“We are thrilled to have found someone of Wendy’s qualifications and wonderful nature to carry on the mission and vision of the HCC,” Wall said.
