Caliente named official Pittsburgh Penguins pizza
After Caliente Pizza & Draft House marked its official 10th anniversary in September, the award-winning chain is taking its yearlong celebration a step further, this time with the help of Pittsburgh’s five-time Stanley Cup champions.
The local eatery has been named the official pizza of the Pittsburgh Penguins and opened five locations throughout PPG Paints Arena.
“The Caliente family is thrilled that our championship pizzas are now affiliated with a champion franchise like the Penguins,” said Caliente owner and founder Nick Bogacz of Richland. “As a longtime Pens fan, myself, being named the Official Pizza of the Penguins is a great honor and a reminder of the importance of Caliente’s roots and growth in this city.”
Patrons can find Caliente behind sections 107, 212 and 232 on the concourse of PPG Paints Arena, as well as inside the Captain Morgan Club and FNB Club. Caliente will be serving slices of Sicilian cheese and pepperoni pizza, along with general beverage concessions.
Caliente has also taken full advantage of its anniversary year by releasing several special menu items, including its newest in-house beer, “Winner Winner, Beer for Dinner Golden Lager.” Additionally, the chain also opened three new locations in Acrisure Stadium in August, not long after marking the opening of its seventh full-restaurant location, in Crafton.
Other locations are in Aspinwall, Sewickley, Hampton, Monroeville, Mt. Lebanon and Bloomfield.
“There has been no shortage of milestones for Caliente this year, and now, we’re happy to share that people from all over will be able to enjoy our pizza during hockey games and other events at PPG Paints Arena,” Bogacz said.
