Shakeeta Scott, a counselor at the Center That Cares, receives a vaccine at a clinic put on by Giant Eagle at Heinz Field on March 11.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Giant Eagle’s mass vaccination clinics at Heinz Field on Thursday and Friday are full.

Giant Eagle spokesperson Dick Roberts said that while additional clinics will take place, he cannot comment on how many more there will be.

Appointments are required. Only those eligible under Pennsylvania’s Phase 1A, along with pre-K through 12th grade teachers and school staff, may sign up.

Roberts said that Giant Eagle is receiving more vaccines and is able to accommodate more patients.

According to Giant Eagle’s website, “school employees, contractors, or independent consultants that typically interact with students in a school setting during the regular school day, including teachers, classroom support staff, early childhood education (ECE) professionals employed by the school entity, school administrators, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, school nurses, speech/occupational therapists, custodians, and other school employees” are eligible.

As with all Giant Eagle vaccination clinics at Heinz Field, free parking is available in Gold Lot 1. Enter through Gate A. Only those with an appointment will be permitted inside the stadium.

The Pfizer vaccine will be given. An appointment for the second dose of the vaccine will be made at the time of the first appointment.
