Coraopolis United Methodist Church

Coraopolis United Methodist Church will hold its Ninth Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner from 1-2 p.m. Nov. 25. This year’s dinner will be a grab-n-go format again at the church, located at 1205 Ridge Ave. in Coraopolis.

Menu items include turkey, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberries and dessert.

The dinner is free, and all are welcome from the West Hills community. The church is proud to partner with Coraopolis Community Development for this year’s event.

Sewickley Presbyterian Church

• Worship services are 8:30 and 11 a.m. There is a 9:45 a.m. discipleship for all ages.

• The Word Sung returns to worship for the first time since November 2019. On this special day, we will listen to the Word sung, instead of preached from the pulpit. Soloists and the Chancel Choir will join with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and organist Regina Kettering to perform works of Franz Schubert, Antonio Vivaldi and William Boyce at 11 a.m. Nov. 21.

• Christmas Basket Food Drive, through Nov. 30. Monetary donations are accepted with a goal to fill 100 food baskets to deliver to those in the community to be able to have Christmas dinner. Visit sewickleypresby.org for complete details. Food baskets are filled by Safran’s Grocery store.

• Christmas Stocking Project donations accepted Nov. 22-Dec. 5 in the church office.

St. Stephen’s Anglican Church

• A Thanksgiving Eve service will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 24 in the Sanctuary. All are welcome, and childcare will be provided. The church is located at 405 Frederick Ave. in Sewickley.

• Christy House Lunch & Tea Room is open to the public and a Friday tradition since 1976. Guests are invited to enjoy lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Christy House (circa 1862) located on the corner of Frederick and Walnut Streets in Sewickley. The Christy House has two unique stores, the Needles Eye (new) and Earthly Treasures (gently used), where special gift items and collectibles can be purchased. Lunch reservations made online must be made by Thursday at 9 a.m. If reserving on Friday, please call the Christy House at 412-741-5960.

The suggested donation for lunch is $15 for adults and $5 for children. All proceeds are a gift to various ministries and missions particularly those involving the needs of women and children.
