Holiday Story Walk

The Sewickley Public Library has partnered with Allegheny Land Trust, Leetsdale Borough and Ohio Township Community Park to offer three Holiday StoryWalks in the parks this holiday season.

Visitors are invited to bundle up and stroll down the walking path at Audubon Greenway, Henle Park and the Nature Trail at Ohio Township Community Park and read holiday-themed picture books along the way. This season, visitors can discover who Bear stays up for when they read “Bear Stays Up for Christmas” by Karma Wilson at Audubon Greenway, read all about what snowmen do at night in “Snowmen at Night” by Caralyn Buehner and read a touching poem about snowflakes and the wonders of childhood in “Snowflakes Fall” by Patricia MacLachlan.

The Holiday StoryWalk is open daily through Dec. 31. More information can be found online at sewickleylibrary.org.

The Lindsay Theater

Folks of all ages will have funny bones tickled and heart cockles warmed by incomparable pictures: “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “The Grinch,” “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” “The Bishop’s Wife” and “Elf.” These favorites have their final 2023 run Dec. 22-24.

The latest cinematic version of Alice Walker’s Pulitzer winning novel, “The Color Purple,” rejuvenates the Tony-winning ways of the Broadway musical, opening on Christmas Day. “Wonka” also screens Christmas Day.
