Sewickley scholarship/loan opportunities

Philanthropic Education Organization needs help identifying candidates for each of its six international projects. P.E.O. provides loans, grants and scholarships for women through its six philanthropies and is committed to helping women achieve their educational goals.

Explore these opportunities on the P.E.O. international website at peointernational.org under the Projects tab to learn more about the qualifications for these projects. Do you know a woman who is in school (college) or going back to school (college)? Perhaps she could use a low-interest education loan of 2%. If so, check out the Education Loan Fund or maybe she could use a P.E.O. Continuing Education grant. Is the woman pursuing a PhD? Then look at the P.E.O. Scholar Awards. Does she have a child or relative in high school who might be a candidate for Cottey College (a nationally ranked, fully accredited, independent, liberal arts and sciences college for women located in Nevada, Mo., owned/supported by P.E.O. since 1927) or our STAR scholarship, which recognizes the accomplishments of graduating high school young women planning to pursue post-secondary education? If she is an international student, help her look at the International Peace Scholarship.

Additionally, the Pennsylvania State Chapter of P.E.O. has four state projects: Maria T Baseggio ELF Fund, the Cottey College Travel Fund for Prospective Students, the Pennsylvania Cottey College Scholarship Fund, and the Emergency Assistance Fund for which she may qualify. For a local chapter contact, call Starr at 217-871-9206.
