Schlicht named board president
Pete Schlicht was appointed president of the board of trustees of the Sewickley area’s Valley Care Association. Valley Care was founded more than 40 years ago on the premise that Sewickley area residents should age with comfort and dignity. To that end, the association operates an adult daycare center in Ambridge in conjunction with Lutheran Senior Life.
Schlicht, a Sewickley resident, also has served the community as a member of the board of directors of the Sewickley YMCA and Sweetwater Center for the Arts. Professionally, he has been a financial advisor for 21 years and with Ameriprise Financial Services LLC since 2012.
Art show
Two Sewickley artists, Claire Hardy and Marianne Fadden, will be featuring their artistic endeavors during a holiday sale at Hardy’s studio in Sewickley.
Both fine artists will have their original paintings on display in addition to unique gift items inspired by their artwork. Shoppers also will have the opportunity to order commissioned work — landscapes or portraits, which would make excellent gifts.
The sale will be from 3-6 p.m. Nov. 13, or by appointment. RSVP at 412-567-2707 or visit clairehardy.com for more information.
Light Up Your Neighborhood with Sewickley Boy Scouts
Boy Scouts from Sewickley Troop 243 are continuing the tradition of selling luminaria kits for the holiday season. Each kit contains 10, 5-inch candles, 10 white paper bags and a bag of sand.
The price is $14 per kit, by check or PayPal. Orders will be taken through Dec. 6, with delivery to local homes Dec. 11. To order, email BSTroop243Sewickley@gmail.com or call/text Jennifer Nastasi at 708-829-8734.
