Heartbeat of the community The Sewickley Valley Community Fund recently approved a grant to the Leet Township Police Department for the purchase of two Automated Electronic Defibrillators. The new AEDs allow the department to now have AEDs in all their police vehicles. The life-saving tools are compatible with AEDs in service with other local police and fire departments, as well as the Valley Ambulance Authority. Having an AED in each police cruiser allows officers, who are often first responders, to begin and continue resuscitation efforts until medics arrive on the scene. Between speakers, guests can visit with folks from local environmental organizations working to protect and improve the watershed.
