Volunteers are needed for the annual Spring Cleanup Day in Leetsdale.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27.

Volunteers will meet for donuts, coffee and supplies including safety vests, bags and gloves at the borough building, 373 Beaver St. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served afterward.

People need to register by April 1 to guarantee themselves an event t-shirt.

Mayor Sandra Ford said it is important for everyone to do their part in keeping the borough clean.

“Our annual clean-up has been going on for years,” she said. “We pick the date around Earth Day. It’s a great time for our community to get together to help clean up Leetsdale while having fun with their neighbors.

“We try to cover all the streets in Leetsdale. The road department usually covers along Route 65 for safety reasons. Last year, we had approx 40-45 people show up and hopefully we get that number again this year, it depends on good weather.”

Those interested in helping out can call 724-266-4820 or email mayorsford@gmail.com.
