Letter to the editor: Let’s get moving, Quaker Valley

I recently attended an info session about the new QV high school — and was blown away by the quality and foresight of the plan.
I left the meeting feeling energized and excited for my child who will (if we get moving!) attend this school in a few years.
There has been a lot of rumor, myth and hearsay regarding this project, so I thought it was important to educate myself. I’m glad I invested a couple of hours of my time and would urge all community members to get involved and learn the facts.
This is a hugely important issue for our area and our kids, so don’t get your information about it from letters to the editor (like this one) or other second-hand sources. The school board has been running site tours, info sessions and panel discussions — go to one.
I’m not going to list out what I liked so much and I’m not going to refute all of the misinformation that has been circulated … that’s not my job and there’s no reason you should believe me versus any other letter writers.
Instead, I urge you to go to the source, visit the site, and attend a discussion. Our school board is made up of our friends, neighbors, fellow parents and community members. We voted for them in part to manage this process, so listen to them and get the straight scoop, not secondhand myths.
And in the end, let’s get moving QV.
