Sewickley Academy elected a new chair of the board of trustees, along with three additional trustees: Dennis Zeitler as chair and Jane Kirkland, Roberto Ortiz and Stephanie Sciullo as new members.
Zeitler is the retired CFO of MSA Safety, a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company. In addition to his global financial responsibilities, Zeitler was instrumental in establishing the company’s strategic priorities, acquisitions, divestitures and real estate development. He has previously served as board chair at the Regional Learning Alliance, the Butler County Community Development Corporation and the National Kidney Foundation. He is currently on the board of the municipal authority of Edgeworth and Fuel Tech, Inc., a publicly traded company. He joined the Sewickley Academy Board of trustees in 2022 and chaired the finance committee prior to his recent election to board chair.
Kirkland leads Kirkland Partners, LLC., a consulting practice focused on strategy, organization and post-acquisition integration for private equity-backed companies and financial service firms. Kirkland brings to the board of trustees her experience as an operating executive and a partner at a top-tier consulting firm to help companies sharpen strategies and drive execution against operating plans. Before starting her own consulting firm, Kirkland was a partner at McKinsey & Company and, most recently, was a senior vice president at State Street Corporation.
Ortiz is the U.S. CFO for Palace Entertainment, the parent company of Kennywood, Sandcastle and Idlewild Parks. Ortiz brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance, as well as managing complex commercial operations in the U.S. domestic and international settings to the board. Prior to joining Palace Entertainment, Ortiz spent more than 20 years at Marriott International, where he ultimately held the position of vice president, finance for the Caribbean and Latin America region.
Sciullo serves as president of the Americas for MSA Safety Inc. Stephanie is responsible for overseeing all of MSA’s business interests in the United States, Canada and Latin America. She also continues to act as executive sponsor and spokesperson for the company’s corporate social responsibility programs. She most recently served as MSA’s senior vice president and chief legal officer, corporate social responsibility and public affairs.
“These individuals are a tremendous addition to our board of trustees, and I am grateful for their interest and generosity in serving in this capacity,” said Dr. Ashley Birtwell, Head of School. “Their professional experiences and dedication to our region will truly benefit us in our leadership.”
