West Homestead suspends employees for alleged misuse of funds
During its Tuesday night meeting, West Homestead Borough Council placed two employees on paid administrative leave for alleged misuse of funds.
The employees’ statuses will remain pending during an investigation into “potential improper use of a membership card and credit card co-titled with the borough.”
Tuesday’s motions confirmed an earlier email vote taken by the council.
Route 65 reopens after crash caused overnight closure
Traffic has resumed on Route 65 after a crashed car in Emsworth left the road closed for several hours overnight.
Emsworth Volunteer Fire Company said on social media it was responding to one vehicle that had crashed into a pole with entrapment.
Allegheny County dispatchers said they received the call for the crash at 10:41 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Route 65 and Hazelwood Avenue. They said there were no transports from the scene.
