The Sewickley Academy community demonstrated its generosity and commitment to community service through the annual “Spirit of Community” Thanksgiving Food Drive. On Nov. 19, Sewickley Academy Senior School students delivered donated goods to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry at Saint Luke Evangelist Parish in Ambridge.

Over the two-week collecting period, the Academy’s families, faculty and staff donated food items and more than $2,400 from online and cash donations. Food donations included boxes of stuffing, potatoes, mac and cheese, pie crust, pie filling and cans of green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, yams and gravy. The food will help feed more than 100 families during the Thanksgiving and winter holidays, while the funds will support the purchase of 40 turkeys.

The students who participated in loading and delivering the donation included Sanaa Grant, Keira Church, Bella Menzock, Rocco Moschetta, Olivia Stefanik, Vivian Grimsely and Claire Karsman.

They were joined by chaperones, director of community and well-being Derek Chimner and school counselor Matt Cragg.
