Sewickley area communities reorganize their leadership for this year

Sewickley area councils and commissions have reorganized and set their leadership positions for this year.
Aleppo
The township commissioners reappointed George Jones and Arthur Williams as president and vice president, respectively.
Jones and commissioners Dan Darragh and Amy Richert were each sworn in to new four-year terms. Judy Haluka was sworn in to a two-year term.
No new members were elected in November.
The township retained its other officials, including Solicitor Harlan S. Stone of Babst Calland Attorneys at Law.
Commissioners meet the second and third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the township building, 100 North Drive.
Bell Acres
David Renfrew was renamed council president and Brock Meanor reappointed as vice president.
Mayor Kenneth Alvania and council members Renfrew, Meanor, Michelle Veeck and newcomer Charles Kulbacki were all sworn in to four-year terms.
Other borough officials such as solicitor, engineer and manager remained the same as last year.
Council meeting times have changed. They have been moved from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. the second Monday of the month at Big Sewickley Creek Fire Hall, 1850 Big Sewickley Creek Road.
Edgeworth
Council had not reorganized as of press time.
Borough officials said the reorganization meeting was rescheduled to Jan. 18 due to lack of a quorum.
The borough was expected to have its regular council meeting following the reorganization meeting that night.
Glenfield
Paul Carmody was renamed council president and Curtis Reiner vice president. Joel Kaminski was named president pro-tem.
Mayor David Orbison and council members Reiner, Greg Joyce, Sam McGeea and newcomer Travis Hartzog were sworn in to new four-year terms.
All other borough officials remained the same as last year. Meetings are the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at 315 Dawson Ave.
Glen Osborne
Glen Osborne Council leadership remained the same with Thomas Huddleston as president and John Orndorff as vice president.
Orndorff, and fellow council members Jim Cohen, Holly Merriman, Mary Scalercio and Mayor Barbara Carrier were sworn in to four-year terms.
Other borough officials such as Secretary/Treasurer Diane Vierling, tax collector Keystone Collections, Nira Consulting Engineers and Solicitor Harlan Stone were also retained.
Council meetings are the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at Osborne Elementary School, 1414 Beaver Road.
Haysville
Amy Paff-Forero was named council president and Catherine Paff vice president.
Paff, Paff-Forero, councilwoman Mary Beth Conlin and Mayor Michael Kerr were all sworn in to new four-year terms.
There were no changes to solicitor, engineer or other borough officials.
Council meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Osborne Elementary School, 1414 Beaver St.
Any changes to meeting times and location will be posted on the borough website, haysvilleborough.org.
Leet
The township commissioners appointed Martin McDaniel as president and Carolyn Verszyla as vice president.
Commissioners Rody Nash and newcomer Dan Peluso were sworn in to four-year seats.
Mark Turnley was named the township’s new auditor and Jordan Tax Service as its new tax collector.
Other township officials remained the same as last year.
Meetings remain the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the township building, 194 Ambridge Ave.
Leetsdale
Patricia Lee was appointed council president and Maria Napolitano was named vice president.
Newly elected Mayor Sandra Ford and council members Lee, Napolitano, Beth Caroll and re-elected Councilman Osman Awad were all sworn in to new four-year terms.
There were no changes to other borough officials such as solicitor, engineer and borough secretary.
Voting meetings are the second Thursday of the month and workshops are the Tuesday before the regular meeting. Both are at 7 p.m. at the borough office, 373 Beaver St.
Sewickley Hills
Joseph Hajnas was named council president and Michael Lepore vice president. Jack Faulkner was named president pro-tem.
Mayor David Malarik swore in new council members Teresa Hartle, Tom Klixbull and Hajnas.
Council workshops are the fourth Tuesday of the month and regular meetings are the second Tuesday of the month. Both are at 7:30 p.m. at the borough building, 349 Magee Road.
Sewickley Heights
Council and its leadership stayed the same with John Means as president and Craig Kinney as vice president.
Mayor John Oliver III and council members Kinney, Thomas Pangburn, Carey Sirani and Phil Hundley were all sworn in to new four-year terms.
All other borough officials were retained from last year.
Council meetings are scheduled for the third Monday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the borough building, 238 Country Club Road.
