Quaker Valley High School Math League recently took third place in this school year’s Mathematics Council of Western Pennsylvania Team Finals at Trinity Christian School on April 15.

The five students who represented Quaker Valley at the MCWP Finals were Sienna Albano, Ryan Steinfurth, Henry Zutter, Luca Albano and Evelyn Zutter.

The full team, which contributed to the season’s success through six months of rigorous competition, also included Sasha Zupanc, Lea Mauer, Kate Steinfurth, Ruth Whitacre, Rachel Bartels, Emmanuel Bayne, Jay Olawaiye and Willy Winnowski.

Senior Henry Zutter was also recognized for his outstanding individual performance during the regular season, scoring 33 out of a possible 36 points. This achievement placed him as the third-highest individual scorer in all of Western Pennsylvania.

Students from across the University of Alabama competed in the Edward K. Aldag Jr. Business Plan Competition April 10-11 for a chance to take their business to the next level. Student entrepreneurs pitched their business plans to a panel of judges, received feedback and competed for cash prizes from $500 to the grand prize of $50,000.

Noah McAdams and his team won the Best New Idea Award for Wellspring Therapy.
