In Edgeworth, Republican Mayor Gary Smith ran unopposed and retained his position.

There were four Republican incumbent candidates running for four seats on council: Katherine Larsen, Daniel Wilson, Joseph Hoepp and Ivan Hofmann.

Glen Osborne

In Glen Osborne, Democrat Mayor Barbara Carrier ran unopposed and will have another four-year term.

Just two candidates, incumbents and Democrats John Orndorff and Mary Scalercio, were on the ballot for four open seats on council.

Sewickley Heights

The Sewickley Heights council race had four incumbent candidates vying for four open seats. Carey Sirianni, Craig Kinney, Tom Pangburn and Phil Hundley are all Republicans.

Sewickley Hills

Two candidates — incumbents Joseph Hajnas and Teresa Hartle, both cross-filed — were on the ballot for three seats on Sewickley Hills council. There were 229 votes cast for write-in candidates, whereas Hajnas received 152 votes and Hartle received 146.

According to the Allegheny County Office of Elections, “The process of determining if a write-in has won a race is a manual one and is done at the end of the Return Board process, so that information will not be available for a while.”

The Office of Elections processes school director write-ins first and notes that the Return Board process is open to the public.

Sewickley Herald will have a story on the outcome of this race when the information is available.
