The Shaler Area Class of 2025 had to wait an extra day before graduating.

Because of the chance of bad weather, the district postponed the commencement ceremony from Friday, May 30, to Saturday, May 31, at Titan Stadium.

JoAnne Townsend, interim principal of Shaler Area High School, said the class made its mark.

“The world is going to keep testing your bravery, your strength and your wisdom,” she said. “My hope for you is that you keep believing in yourself, keep pushing forward and keep lifting each other up — no matter what path you choose next.”

On May 30, as part of a Shaler Area tradition, the graduating seniors returned to their primary schools to visit with students and reconnect with teachers who helped shape their early years.
