More than two dozen Shaler roads will be resurfaced this year.

Township commissioners at their April 8 meeting accepted a $1.31 million bid from A. Liberoni, which had submitted the lowest of seven bids for the township’s road paving program.

The highest bid was nearly $1.67 million.

The work is not expected to start before June, said Tim Rogers, temporary township manager. The township plans to do work under some of the roads before paving begins.

Roads that will be paved are Butterfield, Columbia, Dewey, Fischer, Hamilton, McKinley, Reese, Ridge, Sampson and Short avenues, as well as Dewey Avenue Extension; Shirehill, Tartline, Wilruth and Wooster drives; Hahn, Hieber and Wynland roads; Alexander, Charles, Elizabeth, Herman, West Littlewood, Louann and Wilson streets; and Coleman Way.
