Shaler North Hills Library fundraiser brings more than 400 participants
During President’s Day weekend, the annual Golf ‘Fore’ Shaler North Hills Library event raised $1,800 for the library.
The annual “FUN’raiser as the library calls it, is sponsored by the Friends of SNHL.
Before the Fore was held, the public was asked to put their creativity to the test and design a mini-golf hole, and the response was overwhelming.
There were 18 holes and themes this year including Legos, Sonic the Hedgehog and a hockey-themed hole.
The response to the event was very positive, with more than 400 participants taking part in the covid-safe event – masks were in place, and everyone scheduled their tee times in advance in order to stagger the number of people in the building.
Fore covered the entire weekend, with times set aside for seniors and teens to have their own competitions, along with families throughout the three-day event.
“Everyone is having a great time and the public was so creative this year with their ideas for each hole,” said Sharon McRae, the library’s director.
