BRGR provided one of the food trucks at Poff Elementary School’s All-School Dance.

Hampton’s Poff Elementary School rang in the spring — at least, according to what the calendar said — with a sock hop-themed All-School Dance in early April, highlighted by a bevy of fine food and beverages.

Food trucks from BRGR and Kona Ice were on site, and Dave & Buster’s sent two employees who provided a spinning wheel for prizes and a bag-toss game.

Prizes were sponsored by a whole lot of supporters: Bob’s Sub, Donut Connection, Message Envy, Aviva Brick Oven, Dave & Buster’s, Carnegie Science Center, Pasquale’s Pizzeria, Caliente, Phipps Conservatory, Simply Subs, Chick-fil-A, Emiliano’s, Usborne Books By Briana Mihok, the Hair Doctors Salon, Threading the Needle, Pittsburgh Penguin Foundation, Children’s Museum and Churn.

“Hosting student events really brings the students and community together,” All-School Dance committee member Katie Matecka said by email. “The committee was just thrilled to be able to have an in-person event this year and believe that it is extremely important to the kids and parents to return to a more familiar school year with events like this one.”
