Fall Festival

Baldwin Township’s Fall Festival will take place noon-3 p.m. Oct. 1 in Armstrong Park. There will be food, games, bounce houses, a pumpkin patch and other activities for kids. Castle Shannon Fire Department will be there for touch-a-truck and fire safety tips, and the Baldwin Township Police Department will offer safe trick-or-treating information. FosterCat fundraiser

FosterCat Inc.’s Catnip Bingo fundraiser even is being held at Salvatore’s, 5001 Curry Road in Baldwin on Oct. 16. Doors open at noon. All proceeds from the event go directly to the support of cat rescue, cat care, foster and adoption.

With your ticket purchase, you’ll be eligible to win bingo game cash prizes and door prizes. Other fun activities include a 50/50 raffle, strip tickets and a Chinese auction for some really cat-tastic prizes! Win local restaurant gift cards and other great items. Fresh baked goods (including cat-themed cookies and more) will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $45 each and include 10 bingo games (six cards to a game) and a full course hot buffet luncheon including dessert and beverage. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Ca$htoberfest

LifeSpan, a not-for-profit entity offering services to the 60 plus population in Southwest Allegheny County, is sponsoring its Eighth Annual Ca$htoberfest, evening of fun, entertainment and lots of ways to win big bucks!

The event takes place Oct. 14 at Salvatore’s, 5001 Curry Road in Baldwin, for a buffet dinner, beer, dancing, karaoke and lots of chances to win. The event is from 5-11 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person with two chances to win per ticket. Call 412-464-1300 ext. 152 for ticket information or more information.

Property appeal education forum

Allegheny County Controller Corey O’Connor will host a community town hall to share information and resources with residents on the property appeals process in Brentwood. The event is slated for 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Brentwood Civic Center on Park Drive.

Fall Fest

Baldwin Borough’s Fall Fest will take place from 3-7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the borough building on Churchview Avenue. The second annual event will feature music by DJ Marky Mark 412, a scavenger hung, cookie decorating, a pumpkin patch, henna tattoos, hot apple cider and more. Shoe drive

Beth El Congregation of the South Hills is holding a shoe drive through Oct. 6. Donations of gently worn, new and used shoes will be collected at 1900 Cochran Road from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. All donated shoes will be redistributed to microenterprise partners through Funds2Orgs, a for-profit social enterprise, and used in developing nations for impoverished people to start their own businesses.
