Log House Days
Artists, crafters and vendors again may show and sell will their creations and goods at Greenock Log House Days, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 25 at 1215 Greenock Buena Vista Road in Elizabeth Township.
In addition, the Greenock U. M. Church will revive its Apple Festival next door with smoked pork, chicken, side dishes, a bake sale and apple dumplings from noon to 6 p.m.
Woodworkers, jewelry artists, candle and soap makers, crochet and sewing creators with an array of other vendors may now register for Log House, a growing festival celebrating 18th and 19th-century life in the Mon Valley.
The Elizabeth Township Historical Society will welcome colonial and Civil War re-enactors and members in 18th-century dress at the log house, which was built in 1790 and will be open for tours. Music, children’s activities and food will round out the festivities.
Limited space is available to rent for $25. Vendors are to bring their own set up including canopy, table and chairs.

Door to Door Soliciting in Pleasant Hills
A solicitor for Trinity Solar will be in Pleasant Hills soliciting solar panels through Sept. 6. This solicitor has registered with the borough, has a soliciting permit and also has the borough’s “No Solicitation List” and should not knock at doors on the list.

Planning Commission meeting canceled
The regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Jefferson Hills scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 24 in the Jefferson Hills Borough Council Chambers has been canceled due to lack of agenda. The next meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 28.
